The biggest upset of the week belonged to William Penn, who took down 216th ranked Spring Grove, 49-35. James Way threw for 282 yards and 4 touchdowns and ran for 229 yards during the win.
Central York moved up to 66 from 103 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in York-Adams 1. The Panthers were able to move up by beating Dallastown 17-7.
The Bearcats' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Way contributed 229 yards. Saequan Whitaker helped William Penn's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 72 yards.
He was 17-22 with 1 interception.
Way was a beast in the backfield as William Penn beat the Rockets.
Way put up the best numbers through the air as Shawn Heinold's team defeated Spring Grove. Way's favorite target this week was Dakeem Dennison, who caught 9 passes for 166 yards.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, the Bearcats' Way and Dennison have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-4 quarterback Way has thrown for 1,362 yards this season, while Dennison has 34 catches for 663 yards. Breaun Randle from Central York leads the league in rushing with 1,094 yards.
One of the league's premier quarterbacks will face off with its top pass rusher when William Penn and South Western face off next week.
The Wildcats are in first place, while Russ Stoner's team is in third place.
Brad Livingston's team extended the longest winning streak in York-Adams 1 this week by beating Dallastown, 17-7. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Panthers.
