Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Lawrence County Bulldogs, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They fell just short of Rockcastle County by a score of 31-28. Lawrence County was down 28-8 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Leading Rockcastle County to victory were Caleb Moore and Tucker Warren. Moore picked up 158 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while Warren rushed for 65 yards and two touchdowns.
Lawrence County's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Rockcastle County, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 11-1.
Lawrence County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Rockcastle County will be playing at home against Lexington Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lexington Catholic will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
