The Champion Golden Flashes will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against the Struthers Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. Champion will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive.
Last Monday, Champion strolled past Newton Falls with points to spare, taking the game 33-19. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Champion has scored all season.
Champion's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Isabella Meyer, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Meyer has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Addie Warzala, who scored four points along with six steals.
Meanwhile, Struthers was just a bucket shy of victory on Monday and fell 33-32 to Poland Seminary. Struthers has not had much luck with Poland Seminary recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Champion has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. As for Struthers, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-14.
Champion didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Struthers when the teams last played back in December of 2021, but they still walked away with a 47-42 victory.
