The third road matchup was the charm for Rocky Mount, as they earned their first road win of the season. They were the clear victor by a 28-3 margin over Franklinton. The result was nothing new for Rocky Mount, who have now won three games by 25 points or more so far this season.
Rocky Mount's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ty?lik Harrell, who rushed for 101 yards and two touchdowns. Isaiah Silver also helped out as he racked up 109 rushing yards.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Franklinton to a paltry 135 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Rocky Mount's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out three times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was Micahis Lee jones and his two sacks.
Meanwhile, Northern Nash unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Monday. They fell 28-21 to Southern Nash. The game was a 14-14 toss-up at halftime, but Northern Nash was outscored by Southern Nash in the second.
Rocky Mount's win bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Northern Nash, their loss dropped their record down to 8-1.
Rocky Mount came up short against Northern Nash when the teams last played back in October of 2022, falling 27-17. Can Rocky Mount avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
