After flying high against North Arlington on Saturday, the Midland Park Panthers came back down to earth. It was close but no cigar for Midland Park as they fell 52-49 to the Hawthorne Christian Defenders on Tuesday. The Panthers might have entered gameday a little too confident, resting on the laurels of their 62-42 win against Hawthorne when they previously met in January.
Midland Park's overall record fell to 11-8. The victory bumped Hawthorne's record up to 5-9.
Midland Park will take on Waldwick today. Midland Park has the odds in their favor, so they'll need to guard against complacency. As for Hawthorne, they will go up against Cresskill today. Cresskill is also hoping to continue their momentum after a 62-44 victory over Emerson on Tuesday.
