Basketball Recap: Bridge City Drops Season-High Score on Jasper

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bridge City). They breezed by the Jasper Bulldogs to the tune of 93-15 on Friday. The Cardinals have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 games by 20 points or more this season.

Rylee Hebert was nothing short of spectacular: she dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten steals. Those ten steals gave her a new career-high. Mia Sterling was another key player, going 6 of 10 en route to 14 points in addition to six boards and six steals.

Bridge City smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 14 consecutive contests.

Bridge City's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 25-3. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.3 points per game. As for Jasper, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-15.

Coincidentally, Bridge City and Jasper will both be playing Little Cypress-Mauriceville the next time they take the court. Jasper will host Little Cypress-Mauriceville at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Bridge City will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on January 17th.
