Softball Recap: Tahoma Continues Home Dominance on Monday

Tahoma won the last time they faced Kentwood and things went their way on Monday too. The Bears put the hurt on the Conquerors with a sharp 11-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bears, who have now won nine games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Mia Hammington was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to triples, as she's now hit at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Malina Yelle also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Tahoma was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .409. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kentwood only posted a batting average of .118.

Tahoma's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.6 runs on average over those games. As for Kentwood, they moved to 3-7 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Tahoma will face off against rival Kentridge at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bears 2.4, the Chargers 2.9) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Kentwood is set to square off against their familiar foe Stadium at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
