The Lynchburg HomeSchool Patriots will head out on the road to face off against the Carlisle Chiefs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Lynchburg HomeSchool had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. They put the hurt on Fredericksburg V with a sharp 73-48 win. Lynchburg HomeSchool has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 25 points or more this season.
Lynchburg HomeSchool's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kayden Saunders, who scored 20 points. Another player making a difference was Ben Smith, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, Carlisle unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 79-69 hit to the loss column at the hands of North Cross. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Carlisle came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 43rd, while North Cross is ranked 183rd).
Lynchburg HomeSchool has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 12-7 record this season. As for Carlisle, their defeat dropped their record down to 20-10.
Lynchburg HomeSchool was dealt a bruising 92-62 defeat at the hands of Carlisle in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Can Lynchburg HomeSchool avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
