The Northern Bedford County Panthers will take on the Tussey Mountain Titans at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Northern Bedford County took a 16-run defeat the last time they faced off against Everett, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Panthers never let the Warriors get on the board and left with a 1-0 win on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Panthers have posted since March 28th.

The result came thanks to Mylee Mitchell's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Northern Bedford County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Molli Stepisianos, who went 1-for-2 with one run.
Meanwhile, Tussey Mountain entered their tilt with Mount Union on Thursday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Trojans.
Joslyn Raley was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She tossed seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Raley was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Adyson Weyandt, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Olivia Mills, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.
Northern Bedford County is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Tussey Mountain, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-6.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Northern Bedford County has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 10.5 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Tussey Mountain struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Northern Bedford County was able to grind out a solid win over Tussey Mountain in their previous matchup back in April, winning 7-4. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Titans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
