Baseball Recap: Bonneville Extends Home Winning Streak to Eight

Bonneville won against Skyline last Friday with 11 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Bees beat the Hillcrest Knights by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 11-1. The Bees might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 games by eight runs or more this season.

Greyson Martin made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Carter Bowen was excellent, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Taye Lords also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Bonneville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .577. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hillcrest only posted an OBP of .250.

Bonneville's victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Hillcrest, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.

Bonneville will have a chance to go back-to-back against Hillcrest: the pair will be back at it again later today.
