After flying high against the Calvary Christian Academy Lions last Thursday, the Seminole Seminoles came back down to earth. Seminole took a hard 51-37 fall against Ocoee on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Seminole can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 235th, while Ocoee is ranked 107th).
Ocoee found their leader in underclassman Mikhayah Boone, who scored 22 points along with 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Micah Hannah, who scored 10 points along with 6 steals.
Seminole's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Ocoee, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Seminole will take on Winter Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Winter Springs comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Ocoee, they will be playing at home against Wekiva at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Wekiva's defense has only allowed 28.9 points per game this season, so Ocoee's offense will have their work cut out for Ocoee.
