Dedham has gone 9-1 against Bellingham recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Marauders will host the Blackhawks at 3:45 p.m. Dedham is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.
While Dedham's victory against Norwood wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Marauders had just enough and edged out the Mustangs 5-4 on Wednesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Marauders.
Julia Walsh made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). Walsh was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Walsh wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Joslyn Roberts, who went 1-for-2 with two runs. That's the most runs Roberts has posted since back in April.
Meanwhile, Bellingham didn't have quite enough to beat Millbury on Tuesday and fell 3-2.
Like Dedham, Bellingham also got a great game from a two-way player: Jacobi Houston. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. Houston has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Dedham's win bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Bellingham, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-6 record this season.
Thursday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Dedham hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .336. However, it's not like Bellingham struggles in that department as they've averaged .365. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Dedham got the 'W' when the teams last played back in April of 2025 against Bellingham by a conclusive 8-2 score. Do the Marauders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Blackhawks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
