Even though the St. Francis de Sales Pioneers scored an imposing 55 points on Thursday, the Marmion Cadets still came out on top. Marmion took their contest against St. Francis de Sales 62-55. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Marmion also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2022.
When it comes to explaining why St. Francis de Sales lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jerimiya Sims. Despite the final result, he scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. It was the first time this season that Sims pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Derrick Tharpe, who scored ten points.
Marmion's victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 13-16. As for St. Francis de Sales, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-17.
Marmion didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 68-52 win vs. Hinckley-Big Rock on the 10th. St. Francis de Sales has also already played their next match, a 64-51 loss against Providence Catholic on the 9th.
