Trysten Barrett was his usual excellent self, throwing for 157 yards and five touchdowns on perfect 6-for-6 passing. He has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last three times he's played. Omar Williams Jr was in the mix too, providing Lafayette Jefferson with two scores.
Lafayette Jefferson was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 210 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 166 rushing yards in five consecutive games.
Lafayette Jefferson didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Ka'Vion Campbell-Walker and Parker Barnard. Campbell-Walker got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Kokomo humbled Marion with a 50-22 victory. The Wildkats pushed the score to 47-6 by the end of the third, a deficit the Giants cut but never quite recovered from.
Lafayette Jefferson better keep an eye on Baris Moore. He was instrumental in Kokomo's win, picking up 230 receiving yards and a pair of TDs, while also punching in one touchdown on the ground. With that strong performance, Moore is now averaging an impressive 111.8 receiving yards per game. Brandon Humphries did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 19 receiving yards.
Lafayette Jefferson's record now sits at 5-1. As for Kokomo, the victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-4.
Everything came up roses for Lafayette Jefferson against Kokomo in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 45-14 win. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Moore, who rushed for 104 yards and a pair of scores on only 11 carries.
