AA District 8 recap October 22, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in AA District 8 this week, Upperman beat Livingston Academy 41-34. The victory was the eighth in a row for the Bees.
Upperman's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Bees feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Connor York has thrown for 1,376 yards and 22 touchdowns this season, while Robert Stepehenson has 13 catches for 249 yards. York also leads the league in rushing with 1,497 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Upperman takes on second place DeKalb County. Last week, Upperman bested the Wildcats, while DeKalb County topped Macon County.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Ben Herron's team takes on the Tigers. The Bees have allowed 114 points this season, while DeKalb County has given up 133. Upperman allowed 34 points last week as it bested Livingston Academy.
Bruce Lamb's team made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 8,504 from 8,643. The improvement was the result of a 41-34 victory over the Wildcats last week.
