The biggest upset of the week belonged to Hyde Leadership, who took down 54th ranked Cromwell, 21-10. Kevin Jones threw for 126 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 38 yards in the win.
The Howling Wolves extended the longest winning streak in Pequot - Sassacus this week by beating the Panthers, 21-10. The win marks fourth in a row for the Hyde Leadership.
Jailan Swain was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 225 yards on 15 carries as Old Saybrook-Westbrook fell to Haddam-Killingworth. Shayhid Flemming also contributed to the rushing game with 106 yards on the ground.
Nick was the best wideout in the league this week as the Bellringers fell to the Cougars. Nick tallied six receptions for 113 yards. Ryan Fazzino helped East Hampton/Vinal RVT's passing attack out by catching one ball for four yards.
North Branford's Brandan Basil and Chris Caron have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Pequot - Sassacus in both passing and receiving yards. Basil has thrown for 716 yards this season, while Caron, a 5-foot-9 receiver, has 18 catches for 282 yards. Derrick Villard from Cromwell leads the league in rushing with 511 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Valley Regional/Old Lyme takes on Melvin Wells' team. At the moment, the Warriors are in third, while the Howling Wolves are in second.
Valley Regional/Old Lyme led the league in scoring this week after putting up 40 points on Morgan. Phil Cohen threw for 74 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 57 yards in the win.
