Taft School has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Hotchkiss School Bearcats at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Connecticut (Taft School is ranked 33rd, while Hotchkiss School is ranked 33rd).
Taft School scored first but ultimately less than Cheshire Academy in their game on Saturday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 44-20 walloping at the hands of the Cats. The contest was a 14-14 toss-up at halftime, but Taft School was blown out by Cheshire Academy in the second.
Meanwhile, Hotchkiss School's four-game losing streak came to an end on Saturday. They took down Kent School 30-14.
Cheshire Academy's win bumped their season record to 6-1 while Taft School's defeat dropped theirs to 2-5.
Everything went Taft School's way against Hotchkiss School in their previous meeting back in November of 2022 as Taft School made off with a 38-12 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Taft School since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
