The Currituck County Knights will head out on the road to face off against the Northeastern Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Currituck County's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six contests.
Even though Pasquotank County scored an imposing 68 points on Friday, Currituck County still came out on top. Currituck County took their game against Pasquotank County 75-68. Winning is a bit easier when you work as a team to rack up seven more assists than your opponent, as Currituck County did.
Currituck County's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Luke Morgan, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 12 rebounds. Morgan is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down 11 or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Malcolm Cowell, who scored 20 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Northeastern scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 108-67 victory over Manteo. Northeastern has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 23 points or more this season.
Sayvion Saunders was his usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double on 30 points and nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyell Saunders, who scored 19 points along with five steals.
Currituck County is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. As for Northeastern, they pushed their record up to 14-7 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Currituck County came up short against Northeastern in their previous meeting back in January, falling 58-51. Can Currituck County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
