The Bluffton Bobcats will head out on the road to face off against the Colleton County Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Colleton County took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Bluffton, who comes in off a win.
Last Friday, Bluffton didn't have too much trouble with May River at home as they won 21-6.
Brandon Bryant and Owen Bayes were among the main playmakers for Bluffton as the former picked up 121 receiving yards and two touchdowns and the latter threw for 189 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Colleton County fell victim to Lucy Beckham's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were outmatched by the Bengals at home and fell 35-0. While losing is never fun, Colleton County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 126th, while Lucy Beckham is ranked 30th).
Bluffton now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Colleton County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-7.
Everything came up roses for Bluffton against Colleton County in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 as the squad secured a 52-22 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bluffton since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
