The College Park Falcons pushed their score all the way to 64 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 73-64 hit to the loss column at the hands of Benicia. While losing is never fun, College Park can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 455th, while Benicia is ranked 131st).
Several Falcons players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Connor Whittles, who scored 16 points. Another player making a difference was Michael Wray, who scored 15 points.
College Park's defeat dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Benicia, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-6.
College Park will take on Berean Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Berean Christian has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 8. As for Benicia, they will head out on the road to square off against Concord at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
