North Stafford is on a four-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Osbourn Park is on a five-game streak of away wins (also dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Wolverines will host the Yellowjackets at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. North Stafford is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.
On Tuesday, North Stafford came up short against Riverbend and fell 8-5.
Kaylee Lizardo was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that she launched this season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Osbourn Park). They never let Osbourn get on the board and left with a 20-0 victory on Friday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Yellowjackets with their most commanding win of the season.
Ella Onstott and Hayden Menefee did most of the damage at the plate: Onstott went a perfect 2-for-2 with five RBI, two runs, and one double, while Menefee went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Menefee has posted since back in May of 2024. Cordia Hirschy was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs and one triple.
Osbourn Park always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Osbourn only posted an OBP of .222.
Osbourn Park is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.4 runs over those games. As for North Stafford, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.
Wednesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. North Stafford has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .451. However, it's not like Osbourn Park struggles in that department as they've averaged .452. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
North Stafford couldn't quite get it done against Osbourn Park when the teams last played back in March as they fell 4-0. Will the Wolverines have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
