The Bonners Ferry Badgers are taking a road trip to take on the American Falls Beavers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
American Falls will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Bonners Ferry extended their winning streak to five on Friday. The Badgers simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Timberlake 71-14. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 42-6.
Bonners Ferry got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Keenan Maas out in front who rushed for 209 yards and four scores while picking up 13.1 yards per carry. Maas also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up a sack, making four total tackles (2.0 for loss), and defending one pass. Another rusher making a difference was Conrad Hiatt, who rushed for 148 yards and a pair of TDs.
Bonners Ferry's run defense was locked in: Timberlake could only muster 2.1 yards per carry. While two picked up at least four total tackles, Maas stood above the rest. He rushed for 209 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 13.1 yards per carry. Bonners Ferry didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 15.9.

Bonners Ferry's defense also made the game a nightmare for Ryker Brennan, racking up 12 sacks. Daric Vincent led the group effort, picking up three of those sacks all by himself. Taylor Dodd also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with eight.
Meanwhile, American Falls hadn't done well against Declo recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Beavers claimed a resounding 43-14 win over the Hornets.
Bonners Ferry better keep an eye on Zakary Grigg. He was instrumental in American Falls' win, rushing for 179 yards and four scores on only 11 carries, while also throwing for 118 yards and one TD. Those four rushing touchdowns gave Grigg a new career-high. Brian Lopez was another key player, rushing for 117 yards and one touchdown on only ten carries.
American Falls didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Hunter Grigg, Zakary, and Sawyer Bolgen picked up one apiece. Zakary also punched in four rushing touchdowns, which is notable because American Falls is undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise.
Bonners Ferry's record is now 7-2. As for American Falls, their record now sits at an identical 7-2.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Bonners Ferry has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 268.1 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like American Falls struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 221.2 rushing yards.
