The Cowan Blackhawks were the 84-71 winner over the Tri-Central Trojans when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Cowan received a tough blow on Friday as they fell 72-58 to Tri-Central. Cowan can't seem to catch a break and have yet to win any of their three games.
Several Blackhawks players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Timmy Watson, who scored 19 points. Jayden Terry was another key contributor, scoring 10 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals.
Trenton Patz was the offensive standout of the match as he dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Tri-Central's points. Another player making a difference was Drake Ramseyer, who scored 13 points along with 5 rebounds.
Cowan bumped their record down to 0-3 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Tri-Central, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cowan is on the road again on Saturday and play against Shenandoah at 7:30 p.m. on December 2nd. Shenandoah presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Cowan in Indiana (Shenandoah is ranked 86th, while Cowan is ranked 302nd). As for Tri-Central, they will head out on the road to face off against Frontier at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
