Panhandle is 8-0 against the Hornets since December of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Panhandle Panthers will be playing at home against the Highland Park Hornets at 6:30 p.m. Hopefully Panhandle is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Hornets in Texas (the Panthers are ranked 182nd, while the Hornets are ranked 1452nd).
Panhandle put the finishing touches on their ninth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They blew past Boys Ranch 56-24 on the road. The win was just what Panhandle needed coming off of a 51-31 defeat in their prior game.
Meanwhile, Highland Park's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their ninth straight defeat. They took a serious blow against Farwell, falling 98-10. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Highland Park in their matchups with the Steers: they've now lost four in a row.
Panhandle is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. As for Highland Park, their loss was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-23.
Everything came up roses for Panhandle against the Hornets when the teams last played back in January as the team secured a 89-5 victory. Will Panhandle repeat their success, or do the Hornets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
