The Yorktown Wildcats will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Weimar Wildcats at 2:15 p.m. on Friday. Yorktown is hoping to put an end to a 12-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Two weeks ago, Yorktown came up short against Corpus Christi United and fell 47-37.
Meanwhile, Weimar's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 53-37 to Somerville. While losing is never fun, Weimar can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1550th, while Somerville is ranked 571st).

Yorktown came up short against Weimar in their previous meeting back in February of 2020, falling 66-59. Can Yorktown avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
