Softball Recap: South River Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for South River, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. Everything went their way against the Kent Island Buccaneers on Thursday as they made off with a 13-6 win. The Seahawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by six runs or more this season.

Hanna Grambo was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Avery Ford was another key player, going 2-for-5 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: South River kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March.

South River is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Kent Island, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-7.

Coming up, South River will be playing at home against North Caroline at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Kent Island, they are taking a road trip to challenge Southern at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
