The St. David's Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their tenth straight defeat. They fell just short of Cary Christian by a score of 39-37. St. David's lost against Cary Christian in their previous head to head two weeks ago, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 74-50 score last time.
Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cooper Berkoff, who scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Preston Copeland, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks.
Cary Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was David Wisniewski jr. out in front who scored six points along with ten rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Elijah Holmes, who scored eight points.
St. David's has not been sharp recently as the team's lost 11 of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-18 record this season. As for Cary Christian, their win bumped their record up to 15-8.
St. David's does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cary Christian, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against GRACE Christian at 6:30 p.m. on February 6th. The timing is sure in GRACE Christian's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Cary Christian has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
