Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lighthouse Private Christian Academy). They took their matchup on Monday with ease, bagging an 87-47 victory over the Northview Chiefs. The win was some much needed relief for the Stingrays as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Despite the loss, Northview saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kayden Samelson dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. SamelSon is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last seven games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Zykel Jones, who posted seven points.

Lighthouse Private Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Northview, they dropped their record down to 2-9 with the defeat, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Lighthouse Private Christian Academy will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against FAMU DRS at 5:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. As for Northview, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Orange Beach at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
