Basketball Recap: Brownell Talbot Skates Past Omaha Christian Academy with Ease

Brownell Talbot won the last time they faced Omaha Christian Academy and things went their way on Monday too. The Brownell Talbot Raiders blew past the Omaha Christian Academy Eagles 55-19. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 34-5.

Leading Brownell Talbot to victory were Abbi Gibbs and Avery Nichols. Gibbs dropped a double-double on 24 points and 13 boards, while Nichols dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten boards. Gibbs is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last 13 games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ana Gibbs, who posted six points and seven rebounds.

Brownell Talbot was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Omaha Christian Academy only posted three assists.

Omaha Christian Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Megan Johnston and Mari Keuck. Johnston earned five points and 12 rebounds, while Keuck put up seven points and six rebounds.

Brownell Talbot pushed their record up to 3-0 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points per game. As for Omaha Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Brownell Talbot wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 58-24 defeat against Gross Catholic on the 12th. As for Omaha Christian Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 64-11 loss against Weeping Water on the 13th.
