While Rockford's win against Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Rockets sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 victory over the Lakers on Monday. That's two games straight that the Rockets have won by just one run.

The win made it two in a row for Rockford and bumps their season record up to 4-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 6 runs in those games. As for Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-3.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Rockford is set to take on their familiar foe Glencoe-Silver Lake at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted will face off against rival Dassel-Cokato at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
