The Satellite Scorpions have not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They walked away with a 40-33 win over Melbourne Central Catholic on Monday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Satellite also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Satellite was led to victory by Leigh Hertel and Sydney Logsdon. Hertel scored six points along with eight rebounds and three steals, while Logsdon scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Logsdon hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyna Lora, who scored seven points along with six rebounds.
Satellite's victory bumped their record up to 7-12. As for Melbourne Central Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Satellite will challenge the War Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Astronaut is out to stop a nine-game streak of losses at home. As for Melbourne Central Catholic, they will head out on the road to challenge the Red Wolves at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
