On Friday Winfield take on Warrenton at 7:00 PM. Winfield are expected to win -- but not by much -- so they will need to come into the matchup prepared for a fight.
Winfield and St. Charles were almost perfectly matched up last Friday, but Winfield suffered an agonizing 34-35 defeat. Winfield's defeat came about despite a quality game from senior Collin Sutton, who rushed for 195 yards and 3 touchdowns. Sutton has been a consistent playmaker for Winfield as this was the 6th good game in a row from him.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Warrenton ultimately got the result it was hoping for. They dodged a bullet, finishing off Hogan Prep Charter 27-26. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Warrenton as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.
Warrenton's win lifted them to 1-5 while Winfield's loss dropped them down to 4-2. We'll find out if Warrenton can add another positive mark to their record or if Winfield can shake off the loss and take the spring out of Warrenton's step.
