Rockbridge County (Lexington, Va.) 16-14 on Saturday.
The Cavaliers led 8-6 at halftime, but the Wildcats recaptured the lead on a touchdown run by
Porter Abell with 11:00 remaining in the fourth.
Abell made a difference for Rockbridge County. The senior quarterback threw one touchdown and ran for one touchdown.
Lord Botetourt came in allowing an average of 18.3 points per game this season.
The victory is a complete turnaround from last season's game between these two teams, which RC took, 38-0.
The loss comes after Rockbridge County defeated Staunton River 38-17 last week. The win was a nice bounce back for LB, which lost to Byrd last week, 29-22.
Lord Botetourt (5-3) goes up against Staunton River in a AA Blue Ridge game matchup next week, while Rockbridge County (5-2) locks horns with Alleghany also in a AA Blue Ridge game.
