Cj Givers was his usual excellent self, rushing for 119 yards and two scores on only 12 carries, while also picking up 80 receiving yards and one touchdown. Another player making a difference was Patrick Trummie, who picked up 24 receiving yards and one TD.
Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Whitefield Academy's strategy against Walker on Friday. The WolfPack's defense stepped up to hand the Wolverines a 49-0 shutout. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the WolfPack's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 110th, while the Wolverines are ranked 451st).
Fellowship Christian better keep an eye on Mason Hollingsworth. He was instrumental in Whitefield Academy's win, rushing for 112 yards and five touchdowns on only five carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Amos Robinson, who rushed for 57 yards and one score.
Whitefield Academy's run defense was locked in: Walker could only muster -0.8 yards per carry. While three picked up at least four total tackles, William Dukes stood above the rest. He picked up a sack and made four total tackles (2.0 for loss). Whitefield Academy didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 13.1.
Fellowship Christian's record is now 7-1. As for Whitefield Academy, their record now sits at 8-1.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Fellowship Christian has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 210.8 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Whitefield Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 272.2 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
