The Le Roy Oatkan Knights had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.8 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. They strolled past Bloomfield with points to spare, taking the game 65-51. Given Le Roy's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 132nd, while Bloomfield is ranked 493rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Merritt Holly Jr. continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 21 points along with six rebounds and three steals. He hasn't dropped below 15points for seven straight games. Another player making a difference was Jake Higgins, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and four blocks.
Le Roy pushed their record up to 10-2 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.7 points per game. As for Bloomfield, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Le Roy will face off against York at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bloomfield, they will head out on the road to challenge R at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. R is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
