The Ranchview Wolves had to endure a nine-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, they made off with a 51-50 victory over Pinkston. The win was just what Ranchview needed coming off of a 58-15 loss in their prior contest.
Leading Ranchview to victory were Christina Mokom and Alexis Simpson. Mokom scored nine points along with 11 rebounds, while Simpson scored 22 points. Those 11 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her.
When it comes to explaining why Pinkston lost on Friday, one person who can't be blamed is Cenaya Calhoun- jingles. Despite the final result, she scored 32 points along with seven steals. The contest was Calhoun- jingles' 15th in a row with at least ten points.
Ranchview's victory bumped their record up to 5-13. As for Pinkston, their defeat was their sixth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-16.
Ranchview will be home for the holidays to greet North Forney at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. North Forney presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Ranchview in Texas (North Forney is ranked 343rd, while Ranchview is ranked 892nd). As for Pinkston, they will head out on the road to face off against Dunbar at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
