Valley came into Friday's game looking for another win against The Academy, but CJ Hernandez wouldn't allow it. The Wildcats were the clear victors by a 66-40 margin over the Vikings on Friday with plenty of help from Hernandez, who went 7-for-16 on his way to 18 points along with five rebounds and four steals. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.
The team also got some help courtesy of Aaron Baker, who posted four points and four steals. The Academy is 2-1 when Baker posts three or more steals, but 1-2 otherwise.
Despite the loss, Valley still got an impressive performance from Caleb Dudley, who almost dropped a double-double with 14 points and nine boards. Thanks to that strong game, Dudley now owns an excellent 50% three-point shooting accuracy. Seth Kissler was another key player, putting up six points and eight rebounds.
The victory got The Academy back to even at 3-3. As for Valley, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.
The Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 72-46 defeat against Eagle Ridge Academy on the 13th. As for Valley, they have also already played their next contest, a 71-40 loss against Jefferson Academy on the 13th.
