The Pendleton County Wildcat will hit the road for the first time this season to square off against the Tucker County Mountain Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
As a matter of fact, Pendleton County put up the most points they have all season on Friday. They never let Tygarts Valley get on the board and left with a 59-0 win. The Wildcat pushed the score to 51-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Bulldogs had no chance of recovering from.
Pendleton County found their leader in sophomore Travis Owens, who picked up 44 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Pendleton County proved: they limited Tygarts Valley to a paltry 2.8 yards per carry. While three picked up at least five total tackles, Chase Owens stood above the rest. He picked up 58 receiving yards and one TD. Pendleton County didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 11.5.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Tucker County, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They blew past Webster County 70-6 on Friday. Considering the Mountain Lions have won three contests by more than 32 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Tucker County's win came from a few key players Pendleton County will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Lucas Barb, who rushed for 38 yards and a pair of scores, and also picked up 67 receiving yards and one touchdown. He showed off some serious burst, connecting on a big catch for 60 yards. Another player making a difference was Samuel Marks, who threw for 207 yards and one TD while completing 87.5% of his passes.
Pendleton County's record now sits at 3-1. As for Tucker County, their record is now 4-1.
We should be in store for an exciting game as the two teams have no problem gaining yardage. Pendleton County has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 442 total yards per game. However, it's not like Tucker County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 353.2 total yards. With a pair of commanding offenses duking it out, the defenses are going to have their work cut out for them.
Pendleton County took a serious blow against Tucker County in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, falling 50-0. Can the Wildcat avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
