California (Whittier, Calif.) extended its winning streak to six games with a 42-23 victory over
El Rancho (Pico Rivera, Calif.) on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by
Aaron Garcia in the first quarter, the Condors led 28-10 at the half.
Each side put up seven points during the third quarter, and the fourth quarter began with the margin still at 18.
Drew Castro played well for California in the victory. The senior quarterback threw one touchdown, ran for one touchdown and caught one touchdown. He has now scored five touchdowns on the season.
The Dons'
Joe Sanchez played well. The senior quarterback threw three touchdowns. His performance brought his touchdown total to 18 on the year.
CHS also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 24-20.
El Rancho (3-3) goes up against Santa Fe in a Del Rio game matchup next week, while California (6-0) locks horns with Pioneer also in a Del Rio game.
