The Marlington Dukes fell victim to the Alliance Aviators''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were outmatched by the Aviators at home and fell 36-0. Having soared to a lofty 37 points in the game before, Marlington couldn't push the score so high this time.
Brendan Zurbrugg continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Alliance, rushing for 185 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.3 yards per carry, and also throwing for 205 yards and three touchdowns while completing 87.5% of his passes. Zurbrugg 's longest rush was for an incredible 80 yards. Another player making a difference was K'Vaughn Davis, who picked up 85 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Marlington's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Alliance, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-4.
Marlington does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Alliance will head out on the road to face off against Aurora at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Aurora will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
