The Quince Orchard Cougars lost against the Clarksburg Coyotes back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Quince Orchard took a serious blow against Clarksburg, falling 62-33. While losing is never fun, Quince Orchard can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 168th, while Clarksburg is ranked 34th).
Despite the loss, Quince Orchard still got an impressive performance from Ishani Maheshwari, who scored five points along with two steals.
Quince Orchard has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season. As for Clarksburg, the win was the 13th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Quince Orchard will square off against Walter Johnson at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Quince Orchard focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 36 on Friday. Clarksburg will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Seneca Valley at 5:30 p.m. on February 13th. Clarksburg is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
