Volleyball Recap: Brileigh Long Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat North Port

DeSoto County's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They blew past the North Port Bobcats 3-0. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bulldogs also won the last time the pair played back in August of 2024.

DeSoto County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brileigh Long, who had nine digs and three aces. Kylee Taylor was another key player, getting seven assists and four aces.

They weren't the only good server: DeSoto County was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 17 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in October of 2024.

The victory got DeSoto County back to even at 2-2. As for North Port, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. DeSoto County will square off against Hardee at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup will give the Bulldogs their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for North Port, they will challenge Gateway Charter at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
