The Wylie Prep Academy Patriots were the 34-21 winner over the First Baptist Saints when they last played one another back in November of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. Wylie Prep Academy took a serious blow against First Baptist on Tuesday, falling 57-12. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Wylie Prep Academy has scored all season.
Leading First Baptist to victory were Meredith Quinn and Emily Kate Jones. Quinn dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds, while Jones dropped a double-double on 29 points and 12 rebounds. The contest was Jones' 14th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kolbie Gillispie, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Wylie Prep Academy now has a losing record at 2-3. As for First Baptist, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wylie Prep Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Highlands at 5:30 p.m. on January 16, 2024. First Baptist will finish 2023 at home by hosting Fellowship Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Fellowship Academy is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
