Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Redbank Valley Bulldogs walked away with it. They enjoyed a cozy 26-7 win over Port Allegany on Friday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Redbank Valley.
Leading Redbank Valley to victory were Jaxon Huffman and Ashton Kahle. Huffman threw for 344 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 15.6 yards per attempt, while Kahle picked up 249 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Kahle's longest reception was for an incredible 81 yards.
Port Allegany's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Peyton Stiles, who rushed for 133 yards and a touchdown.
Even if they lost, Port Allegany's defense still kept up the pressure with five sacks. Leading the way was Miska Young and his two sacks.
Redbank Valley's victory bumped their record up to 11-1. As for Port Allegany, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-3.
Redbank Valley will head out on the road to face off against Cambridge Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cambridge Springs will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak. Port Allegany does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
