Cinco Ranch is a perfect 10-0 against Morton Ranch since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Cougars will host the Mavericks at 6:15 p.m. Cinco Ranch is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.1 runs per game this season.
Cinco Ranch had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Mayde Creek on Saturday. The Cougars blew past the Rams 8-2.
Emory Ortiz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Lindsey DeLeon was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. Kaedyn Maxwell was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base.
Cinco Ranch hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are 6-1-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Meanwhile, Morton Ranch was not able to break out of their rough patch last Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 14-0 to Mayde Creek.
Cinco Ranch's victory bumped their record up to 9-6-1. As for Morton Ranch, their loss dropped their record down to 4-11.
Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Cinco Ranch has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .447. However, it's not like Morton Ranch struggles in that department as they've averaged .468. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Cinco Ranch's way against Morton Ranch when the teams last played back in April of 2025, as Cinco Ranch made off with a 15-0 win. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Mavericks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
