Douglas is 0-4 against Jesuit since December of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Douglas Tigers will take on the Jesuit Marauders at 5:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Douglas couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of McQueen by a score of 72-69.
Douglas' defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Caden Thacker, who scored 27 points along with 3 steals, and Jett Lehmann who scored 18 points along with 4 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Reese Torres, who scored 5 points along with 3 steals.
Meanwhile, Jesuit had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They walked away with a 65-52 victory over Oak Ridge on Saturday.
Douglas' defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Jesuit, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Douglas might still be hurting after the 74-51 loss they got from Jesuit when the teams last played back in December of 2021. Thankfully for Douglas, Andrej Stojakovic (who shot 5-for-7 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double on 27 points and 15 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
