Bluffton is 0-10 against Woodlan since April of 2017 but things could change on Monday. The Tigers will face off against the Warriors at 1:00 p.m. Bluffton will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
Bluffton hadn't beaten Winchester Community on the road since May 17, 2018 but that history sure didn't bother them on Thursday. The Tigers narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Golden Falcons 6-4. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 14, 2019, but that streak is no more.
Madyson Sonnigsen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Krista Blair was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Those two hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Konley Ault, who went 1-for-4 with one home run.
Woodlan came out on top against Heritage on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run second inning. The Warriors walked away with an 8-3 win over the Patriots. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Warriors.
The team relied heavily on Alyssa Harvey, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Jade Lichty, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Bluffton pushed their record up to 13-13 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.2 runs over those games. As for Woodlan, their victory bumped their record up to 22-4.
Monday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Bluffton hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .332. However, it's not like Woodlan struggles in that department as they've averaged .408. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Bluffton suffered a grim 17-2 defeat to Woodlan in their previous matchup on May 1st. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
