The Saxony Lutheran Crusaders stacked an eighth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Wednesday. They blew past Fredericktown 74-37 on the road. The victory was nothing new for Saxony Lutheran as they're now sitting on three straight.
Saxony Lutheran's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Rebecca Johnson led the charge by going 6 for 12 from beyond the arc en route to 24 points and 3 assists. Another player making a difference was Evie Caruso, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds.
Fredericktown lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Amelia Miller, who scored 11 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Penuel, who scored seven points along with three steals and two blocks.
Saxony Lutheran's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points per game. As for Fredericktown, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Saxony Lutheran will square off against Dexter at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Dexter and Saxony Lutheran are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Fredericktown, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Ste.
