In what's become a running theme this season, the Sarasota Sailors gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They blew past Southeast 66-27 on the road. With Sarasota ahead 39-15 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sarasota to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sofi Miller, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Miller has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssia Bane, who scored 12 points along with eight steals.
Sarasota is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Southeast, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-15.
Sarasota's road trip will continue as they head out to face Booker at 7:30 p.m. on January 18th. Hopefully Booker focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Monday. Southeast won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Varsity Opponent at 6:00 p.m. on January 17th. Varsity Opponent has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 15.
