Taylor extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 15 on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 0-10 in the process. They lost 18-0 to the North Miami Warriors. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Titans of the 14-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2023.
Taylor saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jallainah Harris, who went 1-for-2 with one triple. That triple marked the first that Harris has hit this season.
As for North Miami, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games.
On North Miami's side, Ashley Sumpter-Music and Victoria Masters made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Sumpter-Music struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Meanwhile, Masters tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, she posted three strikeouts, the most she's had since back in May of 2024. At bat, Sumpter-Music went 3-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and one double, while Masters got on base in four of her six plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Sumpter-Music is on a roll when it comes to RBI, as she's now brought in three or more in each of the last three games she's played.
In other batting news, Jordyn Hackworth was a standout: she got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and four RBI. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.1 runs per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Aricyn Hunt, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.
Coming up, Taylor will take on Oak Hill at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Titans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Golden Eagles have averaged an impressive 9 runs per game this season. As for North Miami, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 6-1 loss against Wabash on the 3rd.
